Fox Entertainment is in the works to develop a brand-new spin-off based on the classic 90s supernatural franchise, The X-Files. Labeled The X-Files: Albuquerque, the series is going to be animated and following an office of “misfit agents” dealing with cases that are too bizarre for Moulder and Scully.
The X-Files creator, Chris Carter, is involved as the executive producer. Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko are also attached as executive producers and writers for the series. Fox’s X-Files reboot is also contributing to its production with its producer and writer, Gabe Rotter, acting as another exec producer.

20th Television and Fox Entertainment will produce alongside Bento Box as the animation team. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny don’t appear to be tied to the project at this time.
This isn’t Russo and Sosenko’s first rodeo in the comedy genre, previous works include the likes of Brickleberry and Paradise PD. This decision does come suspiciously after the launch of CBS’ mediocrely-received Star Trek: Lower Decks.
