It’s three weeks away, Sony‘s Charlie’s Angels 2019 is hitting theaters November 13. But, alas, it may fall flat when it comes to sales in the first week. Last month, it was believed to be setting up for $29 million in its first week. Recently, though, it changed to a much lower $16 million.
If this number is even close to being correct, it’s going to be a terrible start for the film. The budget, according to Deadline, was $48 million, which encompassed various aspects including traveling to places such as Hamburg, Germany and Istanbul, Turkey for filming.
The slow start, though, isn’t a death sentence. Summer’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold acquired $16 million in its first week and ended up with a somewhat lackluster $115 million, even falling in line as a box office bomb. It’s hard to say if Charlie’s Angels will hit the mark or be another “meh” movie surrounding an old IP trying to come back to life.
Only time will tell of its success or failure. Charlie’s Angels 2019 is coming to theaters November 13, 2019.
