The James Mangold-led Ford v Ferrari has zoomed past the $200 million mark in the box office, according to Box Office Mojo. The movie is currently sporting a cool $106 million domestically and $94 internationally. It launched back in November with a great deal of praise from critics and fans alike.
Ford v Ferrari starred the likes of Matt Damon and Christian Bale as automotive genius Carroll Shelby and British hot-head driver Ken Miles.
Filled with drama, cars, and most importantly, racing, 20th Century Fox‘s Ford v Ferrari told the story of the cash-strapped Ferrari company in the talks to be bought by Ford. The deal fell through as Fiat gave them a more lucrative deal with the inclusion of being able to still own its racing division.
Having his company and himself insulted, Henry Ford II demanded his own racing division make a car that could go as far as to beat the Ferrari at Le Mans. The movie is based on the true story of Ford and Ferrari leading up to the 1966 Le Mans.
