Justin Bieber and YouTube are partnering up to bring to life a docuseries about the musician. Under the title Justin Bieber: Seasons, it will show the struggles of the last few years of his life and the creation of the first album since 2015 and more.
Per Variety, the series is going to be a “homecoming” for the artist. With parts of the doc detailing his road to discovery by Scooter Braun and his 2007 YouTube days. It seems Bieber is excited to bring this YouTube Original to life with the help of the platform.
“When I was getting started, YouTube provided me a platform and a community where I could share music, experiences and moments with my fans. It feels great to partner with YouTube for this original documentary series. I want my fans to be part of this journey.”
It’s fair to say, Bieber had quite a rough life while going from a nobody kid on YouTube singing cover songs to becoming an award-winning musician and most subscribed artist on the platform. Back in September, the artist retailed his journey with emphasis on his past drug abuse, depression, and lack of real-world skills.
YouTube gave their own statement about Justin Bieber: Seasons claiming to be thrilled to be adding the project to its 2020 lineup.
“Justin Bieber’s courage as an artist is truly admirable and we are grateful he continues to share his inspiring story on YouTube. As we aim to spotlight authentic struggles and real-life triumphs in our YouTube Originals, we are thrilled to add this special project to our 2020 slate.”
Justin Bieber: Seasons is slated to air on January 27, 2020.
