This holiday season is going to get a dose of LEGO Star Wars this year as Disney preps to launch The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney Plus. Revealed earlier this week, Disney revealed its plans and in a lengthy post, it cited some tidbits that some may find interesting.
Inspirations for the film include holiday classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Lucasfilms’ Josh Rimes has high hopes and wants the holiday special to become a “family tradition.”
“I hope that it becomes a family tradition and that it becomes part of the rotation. You know, you have Rudolph, Frosty, everything else. And you have The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.”
The film is going to draw back on some old favorites, like Lando Calrissian, C-3PO, Tico Rose, and bringing in some Star Wars: The Clone Wars vets to balance the cast, all of which will seemingly return to their respective roles.
According to the press release, the special will hit Disney’s streaming platform on November 17.
