Once again, He-Man is coming to the small screen thanks to streaming powerhouse, Netflix and Mattel Television. The CG series, titled He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, is going to be the retelling of the classic tale for those who missed that part of He-Man history.
It will take place on the planet of Eternia with the normal “He-Man vs. Skeletor” battle raging.
Mattel Television is producing the series with Decendents‘ Adam Bonnett, Batman Beyond‘s Christopher Keenan, and TMNT‘s Rob David slated as executive producers. The Batman‘s Jeff Matsuda and Voltron‘s Susan Corbin are acting as producers.
Sleepy Hollow‘s Bryan Q. Miller will be the series’ story editor. The animation will be done by CGCG, who worked on series like Trollhunters, Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and more, alongside House of Cool.
This marks the second He-Man-Netflix collab. Earlier this year, Kevin Smith revealed he is in the process of creating a series based on the hero. The series is set going under the title Masters of the Universe: Revelations.
These two series aren’t the only goals for Mattel’s toyline. They aim to release reimagined versions of their 80s toyline coming to store shelves fall 2020 and a feature film.
