Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve most likely heard of Edger Wright’s comic book-turned-movie, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. While the comic itself garnered a sizable cult following, the film could’ve been quite different.
Ahead of his rise to stardom following the launch of Twilight, Robert Pattinson tried his hand at nabbing the role of Romana’s second ex – Lucas Lee. Needless to say, it didn’t end up in his favor. According to Vanity Fair, it all came down to his read. Apparently, he read his audition lines vastly different from how his main competition did. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World‘s creator was quick to acknowledge that he was still an amazing actor, though.

In the end, the role went to Captain America star, Chris Evans. Nowadays, Pattinson is seeing good fortune in his career as he works on The Batman and his upcoming film, Tenet.
