Following reports of Ruben Fleischer being a prime candidate for the director role of the Uncharted film, it seems the movie has been pushed back. Revealed late Friday, Sony has admitted the initial release date of December 18, 2020, isn’t likely to happen. Instead, they’ve bumped the movie’s release to March 5, 2021.
This is far from shocking, Uncharted has been having a rough time as of late. After all, it’s seeking its seventh director after Bumblebee-famed Travis Knight ducked out earlier this month over scheduling conflicts with its lead, Tom Holland.
On top of the release date change for the game-based film, Sony’s Masters of the Universe has been taken off the schedule with an undetermined release date. The film was majorly written by Aaron and Adam Nee and would follow the all-powerful He-Man battling it out against evils such as Skeletor.
Uncharted will now be releasing March 5, 2021, making a reasonable about three-month difference.
