UK singing star, Olly Murs, is set to play the role of a junior agent in Fox’s upcoming Spies in Disguise. The UK-born-and-raise singer-songwriter will play beside Will Smith, Tom Holland, and Karen Gillian.
The role marks Murs’ first feature. His primary source of fame, though, comes back his 10-year music career, boosted by going on The X Factor back in 2009. As of recently, he has been beside Meghan Trainor, Will.i.am, and Sir Tom Jones as a coach on The Voice UK.
Spies in Disguise follows hot-shot spy, Lance Sterling, being turned into a pigeon by accident through the use of an experiment gone wrong. Alongside IT wiz, Walter Beckett, it’s up to them to stop a cybernetic maniac all the while having to try to figure out a cure to Sterling’s change.
The film is being produced by Blue Sky Studios. The director role has gone to Troy Quane and Nick Bruno while the screenplay was penned by Brad Copeland and Lloyd Taylor. It was inspired by Lucas Martell’s short film, Pigeon Impossible.
Spies in Disguise is hitting theaters on December 25, 2019.
