As a fan of Disney, we’re sure you’ve had ideas of whether the toys in Toy Story are immortal, right? Well, at least one Twitter user did and shared his woes with his followers about his girlfriend and him fighting over if the toys are immortal.
Toy Story director responds
The two got a surprising person take up the mantel to explain the bottom line – the director of the recent entries. Director Lee Unkrich’s response explained a slightly morbid truth – the toys are technically immortal unless they go through a state that leads them too mangled. He then directly referenced the incinerator at the end of the third film in the franchise.
They live as long as they exist. But if they were to be utterly destroyed? Say, in an incinerator? Game over. https://t.co/p9nwIAjAl8

Unkrich’s been a part of the Toy Story franchise since the very first as an editor. He moved up the ranks as a director for its sequel and beyond
Now, it seems there’s more to lose in that universe when they drop a toy in the tub or go through the washing machine, huh?
