WarnerMedia subsidiary, Otter Media, has held onto Crunchyroll for quite a while now. But, it may not be under its umbrella for too much longer. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the media giant has been shopping around the anime streaming service to interested buyers.
While no comment has been issued, it certainly wouldn’t be the first property WarnerMedia has decided to throw to the wind ever since changing CEOs in May. Earlier this year, they decided to begin trying to sell off its gaming division, leading to quite a few interested buyers including the likes of EA, Take-Two Interactive, and more, according to CNBC.

Sony is listed as an interested buyer of Crunchyroll, which would give it a boost as it already has ties with Texas-based dubbing company, Funimation. The ins-and-outs are a bit shaky. Currently, WarnerMedia expects to net $1.5 billion before selling the streamer, which supposedly Sony isn’t wanting to drop.
